Ted McBride has practiced as a litigator for over 25 years. Following
a federal clerkship with Chief Judge Fred Nichol, DSD, Mr. McBride became
an assistant United States Attorney. For two decades he represented the
United States in a broad range of criminal and civil cases, appearing
in federal court throughout the District of South Dakota and in the Eighth
Circuit Court of Appeals. He served as First Assistant United States Attorney
for the district and was detailed to Washington, DC, to serve as the Assistant
Director/Criminal for the Attorney General’s Advocacy. In 1999,
he became the United States Attorney for the District of South Dakota.
Since joining the firm in 2001, Ted has focused on civil litigation,
particularly in the area of insurance defense, insurance coverage, personal
injury, business and commercial matters and environmental claims appearing
in the State and Federal courts throughout South Dakota. He has continued
to spend significant time on appellate and Indian law practice.
